Description:  Forest Area Community Schools is seeking a full time elementary music teacher.  Forest Area Community Schools is a small district in northern Michigan which serves around 520 students, PreK-12, in the communities of Fife Lake and South Boardman. 

Duties and responsibilities:

• Plan and implement activities to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of the students
• Develop weekly lesson plans centered around state standards 
• Help maintain/assist in the establishment of good school-community relations
• Be familiar with emergency procedures
• Assist administration in the implementation of school and board policies

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Elementary Music Teaching Certificate
• Knowledge of requirements of state and federal mandates which directly affect student programming
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Student-focused approach
