Description: Forest Area Community Schools is seeking a paraprofessional in our preschool GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program). Forest Area Community Schools is a small district in northern Michigan which serves around 520 students, PreK-12, in the communities of Fife Lake and South Boardman. 

Duties and responsibilities: 

• Provides assistance to GSRP students in the classroom as well as to the GSRP classroom teacher 
• Completes 24 hours of professional development each year 
• Assisting GSRP classroom teachers with instructional support 
• Maintains positive relationships with students, families, staff, administration, and the community 

Qualifications: 

• Associate’s degree in early childhood or child development or the equivalent; or a valid classroom CDA credential; or an existing 120 hour approval 
• Strong desire to build and maintain positive relationships with young children ? Ability to collaborate with staff members in the supervision and instruction of students ? A high level of professionalism and organizational skills 
• Commitment to lifelong learning 

Paraprofessionals work closely with the certified staff and principal, and are compensated according to the FAES contract. This position is for approximately 30 hours per week
